Hi! My name is Jamie. Blessed Are The Single Ladies* is my final project to complete my Doctorate of Ministry in Leadership and Spiritual Formation from Portland Seminary through George Fox University. A graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary and University of Idaho, I am an ordained Presbyterian (PCUSA) pastor in the Pacific Northwest.

I enjoy traveling and writing. I don’t enjoy cooking or keeping my office tidy. Gonzaga University is my collegiate basketball team, but the Green Bay Packers have my heart. I will always know the nearest coffeeshop and, when there, I will have pop music of the 80s and 90s playing in my earbuds. After 15 years of youth ministry, I went back to school to earn my Masters of Divinity where I learned the majority of the swear words in Scripture, the role of extispicy in the ancient Near East, and how to gently cross the division between Biblical criticism and a mature faith.

The least interesting thing about me is that I am a never-married woman.

*The title of my project is an homage to Beyoncé’s classic Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It), a powerful song of independence and the strength of womanhood in community. It should NOT be played at weddings when the bride throws a bouquet; that’s pandering and, frankly, insulting.
